Ksubi Pop-Up Store - The Bombed Marche Posted: 05 Dec 2008 12:27 PM CST The Bombed Marche on High St. Armadale was where the retail idea all began. The store which is constructed entirely out of refuse and disposable materials is designed to reject accepted retail norms and to comment on the impermanence of interior retail design. The store, created by Ksubi in association with Herbert & Mason architects, leads the way in social and economical design by focusing on salvage and "mash" culture to produce an aesthetic the team call "homeless chic".
LEST WE REGRET features 120 glass jars, suspended from the ceiling with wire, containing shredded Quarterly Economic Activity Survey’s from Australian Bureau of statistics. An acknowledgment of the tough economic climate yet a call to arms to advance without regret in pursuit of joy, freedom, ecstasy, laughter and glorious imperfection. “We are easily bored, here at Ksubi. The idea of opening a pop up shop is a great way to cure the boredom. It’s exciting building them and before you can get sick of it …pffffft! It’s gone. says Dan Single Via Diane Pernet & Sportswear Intl Related posts:

Posted: 04 Dec 2008 03:29 PM CST Sick 11,000 sq-ft Concept Store/ Event Space by Puma (created by Lot-Ek) - Twenty-four shipping containers are retrofitted and transformed into PUMA CITY, a transportable retail and event building that is traveling around the world along with the 70-foot long Puma sailing boat – il Mostro - during the one-year long 2008 Volvo Ocean Race, just started in Alicante, Spain in early October.
DESIGN: LOT-EK The building is conceived as a three levels stack of containers, shifted to create internal outdoor spaces, large overhangs and terraces. The stack is branded with the super-graphic logo of the company – fragmented as a result of the stack shift. Puma City is a truly experimental building that takes full advantage of the global shipping network already in place. At 11,000 square feet of space, it is the first container building of its scale to be truly mobile, designed to respond to all of the architectural challenges of a building of its kind, including international building code, dramatic climate changes, plug-in electrical and HVAC systems and ease of assembly and operations." Bless SS09 Collection/Presentation Posted: 04 Dec 2008 01:45 PM CST Berlin based Bless is a highly conceptual design collective who never seizes to associate themselves in a very artistic way. For the presentation of their SS09 Clothing/Accessory Collection in Spain they had the models piled into a tight stairway as an obstruction or nuisance to the passing of the press creating a very unconventional form of presentation and perception both of the models and of the press. Have a good look at the awesome eyewear they did for next season as well.
