Posted: 13 Apr 2009 11:13 AM PDT Genevieve Gauckler is a Paris-based artist and creator of a world of eccentric characters, blending them seamlessly into her everyday environment. I love her work, so simple and so efficient ! She can already look back on an accomplished career in graphic design, illustration and art direction, having worked with Idn and Flaunt magazine, advertised for Coca Cola, worked for French record label F Communications (Laurent Garnier, St. Germain) and so on… - Definetly check her blog and portfolio for her latest news and work, you will Love it !!
Recently Genevieve worked on Beck’s The Information album and website, experimental videos with Pleix, and exhibitions at Colette in Paris, Tokyo and Someday Gallery in Melbourne. She spends any free time traveling around the world, giving lectures, exhibiting work and obsessively taking photos to fuel her ever-expanding photomontages. |
Posted: 13 Apr 2009 10:59 AM PDT While surfing the net I found an amazing compilation of photographs of celebrities shot as Pin-Ups. There was no information on the photographers and at first I thought it may have been one pin-up editorial, but after looking although through it you could recognize that there was a great distinction in style and light of the photography. The commonality was in the trend of shooting these onscreen icons as sexy 50’s pin-ups to allude to that desire and fantasy associated with the idea of the pin-up and many of these stars as sex icons. |
Posted: 13 Apr 2009 10:21 AM PDT This has got the be the most charming young couple! Teenage sensation Miley Cyrus and heartthrob model, country star in the making, Justin Gaston are a tabloids dream! Young, successful, gorgeous and sweet, there is no saying what the commercial limits of the this can be. In V Man 13 there is a full interview and editorial on this beau, describing his time with Miley and his life aspirations. From the Interview… What's it like being an aspiring 20-year-old in the shadow of a teen sensation? "I look up to her," says Justin. "It's nice to have someone there who already knows what's going on. It helps you plan your next steps." As with everything he says, Gaston is completely sincere. He can truly be described as a nice guy—and "nice" is exactly what he likes about Miley. "In a girl, I want someone who's really genuine," he says. "Someone attractive, but more just really nice."

Posted: 13 Apr 2009 09:56 AM PDT Bat for Lashes decided to do a cover of Kings of Leon’s song “Use Somebody”. Im a big fan of covers done well. Its a chance to resurrect a song you may have retired, and enjoy it all over again; this time in a whole new way. Bat for lashes brings her signature ethereal and eerie, yet always lovely sound to KOL’s song here. An interesting and somewhat unexpected tribute from a girl with typically off-beat influences. Posted: 13 Apr 2009 09:21 AM PDT The Monopoly board game, has a colorful print advertising campaign developed in Germany, using the tag line, "Own it all". Four photographs of actual properties, washed in green and red, show 124 Mediterranean Avenue and 74 Baltic Avenue (the two cheapest properties on the board), 807 Boardwalk and 153 Pennsylvania Avenue (two of the most expensive on the board). Pretty cool !
