| Amelia’s World : Animal Affinity Posted: 04 Nov 2008 12:32 PM CST Robin Schwartz makes meticulously composed, disquieting portraits of her daughter, Amelia, interacting with a range of exotic animals, from monkeys to kangaroos. Her startling portraits reference painting and hint at open-ended narratives. Her work is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, D.C.; and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, among other institutions. These photographs are absolutely to die for. I can not help but be curios about this little girl Amelia, she must have the balanced and calm state of being. I can imagine interaction with so much wildlife at such an early age has definitely set a major tone for her future. | Dutch Conceptual Photographer : Yvonne Lacet Posted: 04 Nov 2008 11:57 AM CST Yvonne Lacet is a Dutch conceptual photographer that I was drawn to because I saw all of the photographs as huge canvas’ on the interior of a home. Simple but very well framed, clearly someone with a great eye and appreciation for the everyday charm in life. | RóisÃn Murphy - Amazing new Artist Posted: 03 Nov 2008 10:48 PM CST Listen Roisin Murphy - Overpowered RóisÃn Murphy the New IT Girl from England - She made her US debut last Friday at The Mansion NYC (wish I was there) and the concert was a blast ( details here )- Notice a beautiful Alexander McQueen checkered deer jacket which was one of her outfits? ( see video below ) - She seems pretty well connected, friends with fashion designer McQueen and Gareth Pugh, first row for the Chanel runway in Paris and also represented as model by Elite+ Agency, La Roisin is definitely on the right way to the top… !! Keep an eye on her… I can bet she will be appearing on a big fashion publication cover really soon…
