Latest on Hedi Slimane’s Photo Diary Posted: 12 Nov 2008 12:08 PM CST Just a reminder to check in with Hedi Slimane’s photo diary for his daily photo posts of him capturing the raw aesthetic of cultures in different cities and portraying characters in a documentary style with deep dramatization. I love all his framed type photos because they are just the right words and dynamic to tell his stories.

The pops of color, the tailoring, the simplistic modern design this is the best collection I have seen in a while. “Filippa Knutsson is one of the two founders of Filippa K. Having been educated in London, Filippa returned to her native Stockholm in the mid-80's to work for the successful family-owned fashion company Gul& Blå, initially as a buyer and later as a product manager. After six years Filippa decided to start her own business designing clothes that she felt were simply missing in the marketplace - uncomplicated and yet modern clothes to suit every occasion. Today Filippa K is sold in 20 countries, has 40 brand stores in Europé and USA, and is represented by more than 750 selective retailers worldwide. Filippa K's head office is located in Stockholm.” Check out more of the collection here. Related posts:

The ad campaign will feature four scenes such as above (the first of the series) set at the top of the Eiffel Tower. Mixing a bit of romance, a bit of history, and whole lot of sexy – but in a classy way. Related posts:

Posted: 11 Nov 2008 01:11 PM CST Roald Dahl created some of the best-loved children’s stories of the 20th century, such as “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, “Matilda” and “James and the Giant Peach”. Having that in mind, Vogue UK enlisted Tim Burton (who of course directed one adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and produced another for James and the Giant Peach), actors Helena Bonham Carter, Imelda Staunton and Jamie Bell, and musician Lightspeed Champion amongst others, to help bring to life, Dahl’s powerful vision through fashion. Shot by Tim Walker, the editorial takes its name from Dahl’ successful short story collection. via Wicked Halo Related posts:
